The Witchery Group encompasses Witchery, Witchery Man, Witchery Accessories and Mimco brands. With retail stores across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and the UK, Witchery Group continues to be the leading group retailer in womenswear, menswear and accessories.

Since 2005, Performance Partners has worked with Witchery, and more recently with all associated Witchery Group brands. Our focus in this time has been on improving the leadership capability of managers and improving the sales performance of stores through targeted sales development. Examples of our work include:

Leadership Development

We have worked with the retail executive teams across all brands and the State and Area Manager teams at Witchery. Some of our work includes:

  • Regular 1-on-1 coaching with senior managers at Mimco and Witchery, as part of the group’s succession planning/talent management program.
  • The customisation and facilitation of executive half-day workshops. These included: strategic leadership, understanding self [through our profiling tools], employee engagement, giving feedback, time management and succession planning.
  • Full-day workshops with State and Area Manager teams on employee engagement and the facilitation support at half-yearly conferences.

Sales Development

In 2008, Witchery approached Performance Partners to work with them to develop sales training materials that could be delivered in stores. Witchery already had a strong focus on customer service, product knowledge and closing the sale; their focus here was more around engaging with the customer and add-on’s. As a result, we developed a series of 90-minute workshops, supported by facilitator packs, for Area Managers and Store Managers to deliver after hours. These workshops were designed to be facilitator-friendly while also appealing to all levels of team members; from brand new team members to team members that had worked at Witchery forever.

Retail Culture Index [RCI]

In 2010, the Witchery Group signed on to our RCI, for both Head Office and Witchery and Mimco stores. Starting with Head Office, we were able to identify the key strengths of the business and greatest areas for development. As a result of our findings and presentation back to the executive team, we have worked closely with the Witchery Group to map out a 12-month employee engagement program. This process has since been rolled out to both Witchery and Mimco stores.
